OMG! The Astros won the World Series!!!! As if it couldn't get any better, not only did they win, but we have two new polkas in their honor, thanks to Polish Pete & the Polka? I Hardly Know Her Band. Pete formed the band in 2012, and he says they've been mentioned in the paper before.
"A couple of years ago, we played the Polkapocalypse in Austin with Brave Combo. We were in the dance calendar as Brave Combo and TBA," he said. Ha! One of the downsides of deadlines and festivals not knowing who's in the line-up yet. He has a good sense of humor about it though.
"I keep a copy of that issue on our Polka Bus. I tell anyone who asks (or doesn't ask) that we made it in the Polka News!, except they spelled Tuba's (one of the band members) name wrong, TBA, and forgot to put my name in there, but we made it!"
