DJ Profile: Nonito Martinez

Nonito Martinez has been broadcasting polka music on the KMIL airwaves in Cameron, TX since 2003 and is still going strong. Nonito also does a Tejano music show on KMIL. TPN had the chance to ask the polka DJ a few questions.

TPN: What do you enjoy most about broadcasting polka music? NM: My biggest enjoyment has been the acceptance by the listeners and their continued support as time has progressed. Now with the internet, the audience is spread throughout the U.S. It is overwhelming and heart-warming to get calls and emails for requests from so many listeners. Also during the program, I get to interact with the audience. I have even met many great musicians that I would never have known if I did not have this job.
