Polkadate: January 2018. Even though some folks might wish it so on January 1st, as their bodies aches after celebrating the survival of another year, it's not advisable to start the new year off by passing away. The calendar says that you have a 1 chance in 365 of being in the past tense on the first day of the year. The music world has had its share of loss on January 1st. As Jim Morrison said, "The future is uncertain and the end is always near."
Hiriam "Hank" Williams, was riding high in the country music world in 1952. In the last four months of the year, he had released Kawliga, Your Cheating Heart, I Could Never Be Ashamed Of You, Take These Chains From My Heart, and Ramblin' Man. Hank's ride down that Lonesome Highway of fame where everyone wants a piece of you had been Moving It On Over for just over four years.
His record company and manager had him on the road constantly; concerts consisting of one night stands, then another several hundred miles away, radio station promotional visits, recording sessions, finding time to write the next hit song the public and his record label demanded.
