Alice and Sefcik Hall: Both Legendary

Tom Sefcik Hall is one of the few operating institutions in Texas that actually deserves the adjective “legendary” which is haphazardly thrown about nowadays. Sefcik Hall is (1) in a remote location not easily traveled to by first timers, (2) old and original-- built in 1923 by its namesake, not a second-party builder;

(3) has not been updated excepting an invisible cooling system, some electrical work, and a freight elevator necessitated by orchestras becoming amplified, (4) is still in continuous operation since opening,

(5) has served as an integral part of the community as a general store, lumberyard, and community center, (6) is still owned and operated by the original owner’s octogenarian daughter, Alice Sefcik Sulak.
