Not Just Oom-Pah!

ACCORDION WORKSHOP & CONCERT APRIL 5-7

The second Not Just Oom-Pah! Accordion Workshop & Concert is scheduled for April 5-7, 2019 in Austin. The free concert will be held on Fri., Apr. 5, from 6-9 pm at Central Market North and will feature Jamie Maschler & Friends with forro and Latin Jazz, and Rachel Bell with Karen Axelrod playing an eclectic array of entertaining music including French, Celtic, and other toe-tapping tunes. Twelve workshop sessions will be held Sat., Apr. 6 and Sun., Apr. 7 led by Jamie who will be teaching forro, Brazilian music, and Latin jazz styles, and Rachel and Karen will present a variety of French, Celtic, and folk music.

New this year, the public is invited to a folk-dance session on Sunday from 2-4 pm, taught by Gaby Thompson of San Antonio. The day will conclude with a jam session from 4-5 pm.
