What You Can Do to Keep Polka Music Alive

There's not a lot happening in the Texas polka music scene right now, just look at the meager dance listing on pages 9-10. A lot of folks in polka music are worried about the future. The pandemic will subside one day, but what will the scene look like then? How many bands will survive? What about the dancehalls?

There are some things polka music fans can do to help. Buy albums and merchandise from your favorite bands. Follow them on Facebook, YouTube and other social media. Many bands are livestreaming concerts and practice sessions. Some have set up online tip jars so that fans can donate to the band.
