Muziky, Muziky to Pay Tribute to Vrazel Polka Band

Each October since 2013, the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center has hosted a Heritage Fest. It's a family-friendly event filled with music, food, historic demonstrations, and village tours celebrating all that's Czech. The festival finale has been a Muziky, Muziky performance at Sanford Schmid Amphitheater. But not just any muziky. Each performance has paid tribute to a legendary polka band. Making the music are past members of the legendary bands along with musicians from current top polka bands.

The first performance in 2013 paid tribute to the Joe Patek Orchestra. Since then, the Muziky Legends Series has paid tribute to the Hi-Toppers Orchestra, another Joe Patek tribute, the Donnie Wavra Orchestra, and last year's recognition of the Bobby Jones Czech Band.

This year's Heritage Fest will be held on Oct. 19 and 20, with the Muziky Legends Series part VI honoring the Vrazels' Polka Band. See the ad on page 5 for the Heritage Fest schedule, and read more about how the Vrazels became legends in the Texas polka world.
