MUSIC-N-MUSHROOMS IN MADISONVILLE

Every year Madisonville comes alive and all about mushrooms for the Texas Mushroom Festival. This is the 17th year to pay homage to the shroom, set for Sat., Oct. 13. The entire downtown square is converted into an old-time street festival, complete with three stages of live entertainment and dance performances – including a Gospel Music Stage. Dive into delicious foods and shop hundreds of vendor booths offering an array of different handcrafted wares.

Start your day with the Shiitake 5k Run (8 AM) then vote on your favorite vehicle at the Auto Showcase featuring cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. Stop by the mushroom cooking demonstration and sample various tidbits made with mushrooms and free mushroom fajitas. Then step inside the Kimbro Center to view the Photography and Art contest entries and a Quilt Show of locally handmade quilts by the Quilting Hens.
