PoLK of A at HIGH Hill PICNIC
Only two more months left in this year! Where, oh where, did it go? They say that it is fall, so they say. I love this time of year. The countryside is alive with polka music. All the church picnics are going on, all kinds of festivals are happening, and Lord knows there are plenty of festivals.
There are festivals for drinks, food, all nationalities, animals (not a fan of that one!), i.e. the Mosquito Festival. Now why would they have a festival for THAT? They are pest and don’t serve any purpose, plus they sting when they bite, but people go.
The Heritage Fest and Muziky is also coming up, Oct. 18-19 at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange. This is certainly a great time for all and very family friendly. We usually work and totally enjoy this event.
Be sure to stop by the Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum to see all the great, new exhibits. You'll also want to purchase calendar raffle tickets - the museum's fundraiser for its endowment fund. See the ad on p. 16 for more information.
Our January meeting will be here before you know it on Sun., Jan. 12, 2020 in Sealy at the American Legion Hall. The Lost Cause band will play for our dance.
