Déjà Vu All Over Again
The rearing head of the Covid-19 virus and the actions taken by the government to prevent the spread of the silent, sometimes deadly illness has taken a toll on the entertainment industry like no other. More than the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1919, more than the various taxes, prohibition and religious wars levied on dancing arenas. The all-inclusive forced shutdown of the venues has created a ripple through the Central Texas music scene. No church picnics, no festivals, no touring musicians, no small clubs, no wedding celebrations or other venues where citizens congregate for self-amusement, community involvement, and music appreciation.
