Nebraska Polka Bandleader Dean Hansen Dies at Age 87

Dean Hansen, polka bandleader from Ithaca, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the age of 87. You can find his obituary at https://www.reichmuthfuneralhomes.com/obituaries/Dean-Hansen/.

WRJR Goodtime Radio of Appleton, Wisconsin, posted a tribute to Hansen on their Facebook Page after his passing. The station wrote, "Dean Hansen had a fine, smooth, but swingin' Nebraska Czech-style oldtime band, reminiscent of the great Ernie Kucera band. He was an inspiration and a great friend to many, for sure."
